Recently, a number of prominent television and film creators, as well as authors, have either been outed for bad behaviour or made hateful public statements.
Anyone who is a regular listener will know that we often refer to Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And they are not the only texts we mention that have problematic creators.
Many of the actors from the Harry Potter films have come out to reassure fans that it is ok to love the property while not supporting the message of hate its creator preaches. But is it so easy? How connected are creators to their creations and has it changed in recent years with the rise of the cult of celebrity?
Fair warning though, this is the first episode we have had ALL YEAR without a guest and it does get just a touch silly from time to time, despite the serious nature of the topic…
